VIA (valuing intellectual assets) Highlands and Islands got underway in Inverness in September. This ERDF funded project is being delivered by Ellis IP and AB Associates on behalf of the Intellectual Assets Centre. The purpose of the programme is to improve the understanding and awareness to enable participating organisations and others leverage the value in their underlying intangible assets.
The project is assisting fifteen Highlands and Islands based software companies through a series of interactive workshops on topics from International Marketing Strategy to software IP licensing to provide the participants with exposure to the various forms of and techniques for intellectual asset management. These workshops are complemented by Masterclasses given by experts in their fields on how the adoption of IA management techniques or awareness or focus on the value of intellectual assets has been effective. Finally, each programme participant is allocated a consultant from Ellis IP or AB Associates to help implement an approach and strategy for IA management specific to the participant's own business.
The practical elements of the programme are due to be completed by end of March 09.
